LEAF FROM ROCKELSTAD. Brevarium Latinum. Italy, probably 15th-16th century. Manuscript on vellum, in Latin.
With decorated initial in gold, pink, green, blue and yellow, 6 smaller initials in blue and red. Size of leaf including margins c. 350 x 250 mm.
From the library of Rockelstad Castle, Sörmland, Sweden: early twentieth-century printed armorial bookplate of Eric von Rosen (1879-1948) pasted to the passepartout.
Partly worn and soiled, initial worn with loss, some holes to margin which are soiled. Tape to margin on verso.
