First edition. Louise Faure-Favier (1870-1961), French writer and aviator, once record holder for the flight between Paris and Dakar. Laurent Eynac (1886-1970) served with the French air forces during world war I and later became minister af air transportation. On the rear cover an epitaph over another French aviation pioneer, Jules Vedrines, who managed to land an aeroplane on the roof of department store Lafayette in Paris in 1919, three months before he fatally crashed after an engine failure.
