8vo (185x190 mm.). 56 pp. Illustrated in colour throughout. Original pictorial boards, cloth backstrip, red edges, no dustwrapper. Bookplate of Roland Svensson (1910-2003, well-known Swedish author and artist).

The Baby´s Opera, first published by Routledge, was initially rejected by booksellers, but was so well received by the general public that the first issue of 10,000 copies was sold within four weeks, leading to numerous reprint editions by various publishers throughout the 19th century.
