8vo (178x115 mm.). Original green printed wrappers, on verso printed Acting Rights, bookseller´s label from Boyveau-Chevillet, Paris.
Half calf with marbled boards, rubbed and worn, faded spine, gilt title to spine.

First trade edition published in 1899. This is a so called "Acting edtion" published between 1893-95. Earnest was first staged in London, ´at the St. James´s Theatre, on Thursday, February 14th, 1895´.
