Large engraved map on 4 sheets, joined, elaborate allegorical title cartouche with a pyramid, lion and palm trees, amongst other illustrative imagery, mounted on linen and lacquered. C. 1240x 1440 mm. On wooden sticks.
Scarce large scale wall map of the African continent, dedicated "To the committee and members of the British Association for discovering the interior parts of Africa" and showing the area mapped at the time, with parts of the interior naturally left blank.
Another edition, with revisions, appeared in 1811.
Aaron Arrowsmith, the elder (1750-1823).
