Large 4to. 335 x 235 mm. Original full black calf bindings, gilt titles to spines, in original paper slipcase. Edition of 900 copies, this is number 58.
Facsimile of the 1818 edition with extensive notes and critical apparatus, engraved frontispiece, most ff. with samples of the Bodoni typefaces, 3 folding, supplement with loose folded sheets with further samples to pocket on rear pastedown. Commentary in Italian, French, English and German.
Provenance: Lars Hall (1938-2018), prominent in Swedish public relations, designer and art collector, who studied at Konstfack in Stockholm. Hall was an Art Director and one of the founders of the advertising agency Hall & Cederquist AB in 1973. He also started Gallery Camera Obscura and later Lars Hall AB, (art direction and design). He was also an avid collector of books and Fine Art photography.
