18th century full leather binding, worn and damaged, upper board loose, spine with red label and raised bands. Bookplate of Olof H. Selling. Text some spotting, some dampstaining to margins, a few notes to the margins.

Sylva Sylvarum, or, A Natural History, in ten centuries, contains a report on the results of experiments conducted by Bacon himself and other researchers.
Chapter New Atlantis (1627), a Utopia, is about a society found on an island by shipwrecked sailors.
9th edition. First published in 1627, one year after Bacon´s death.
