Stockholms Auktionsverk Wraps Up the Year with Strong Results

Autumn 2025 marked the beginning of a new era for Stockholms Auktionsverk – the world’s oldest auction house – as we joined forces with Uppsala Auktionskammare. Among this year’s highlights were 44 lots each sold for over one million SEK, and we head into 2026 with strong momentum.

A sensational flea market discovery from Uppsala took center stage during an intense round of international bidding on Thursday. The statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, which had lived a quiet life in a private Swedish home, sold for a final price of SEK 2,437,500 at The Asian Fine Art Sale.

Queen Josefina’s Earrings Sold For Over Two Million SEK

The final day of The Curated Classics & Fine Jewellery Sale opened with the jewellery department, where a magnificent pair of pearl earrings once belonging to Queen Josefina – wife of Oscar I and Queen of Sweden and Norway from 1844 to 1859 – went under the hammer. After intense international bidding, the earrings achieved a final price of SEK 2,187,500.
